Principals Hope Spending Bill Will Lead To More Funds For Principal Training

Education Week (12/18) reports that the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the American Federation of School Administrators, and the National Association of Elementary School Principals have praised a Federal spending measure investing in principal development. The groups’ joint statement applauds the recognition of principals’ expanding roles but also calls for more funding toward proven, research-backed training for principals. While funds under Title II of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act cover such training, only 4% of those funds are allocated as such.
