Kansas Legislature Debates Merit Pay

The AP (1/19, Hellmann, Hanna) reports that on Tuesday, the Kansas state House Education Committee held “a two-hour hearing on merit pay, an idea that is drawing opposition from teachers and the Kansas Association of School Boards.” Gov. Sam Brownback (R) has called for teachers pay to be “tied to student achievement.”
